I believe that I have always had a pencil in my hand. From elaborate doodles to detailed sketches, I wore out pencil leads at a rapid rate. Living in the country provided many opportunities to observe and attempt to recreate the beauty around me. Art lessons in junior high opened my eyes both to more realistic ways to sketch and paint, and to interesting ways to express what I saw and how I felt. After two colleges and five or six different majors, I finally graduated, but not in art. It took about 20 years before I finally returned to my youthful passion. (Although I did continue to wear out pencil leads.)

I began painting professionaly in 2000, utilizing a variety of mediums and techniques. Beginning with faux finishes and textures, I soon incorporated mural work. Eventually, I felt the need to expand to boards and canvases, so I could experiment more freely with styles, colors, and textures.

In October of 2006, I officially began painting predominately animal portraits, florals, and nature scenes. I participated in the Michigan Yorkie Fair, the Noblesville Art Fair, the Avon Art Fair, and the Zionsville Brick Street Walk in 2007.

Currently a selection of my floral paintings is on exhibit at Eventful Florals in Zionsville, IN (Voted Indy's Best Florist by WRTV6 and Indychannel.com!) Also, I will be April's featured artist at The Artist's Vineyard in Noblesville, IN. I am currently working on my art fair schedule for 2008.
